Linlithgow Rose Coaches Code of Conduct

 

Linlithgow Rose expects its coaching staff to set the standards for the way our players conduct themselves on the pitch. We expect them to want to compete and to win. But we want them to do so as exemplars of how to win and lose with dignity and to instil that ethos into our players. We expect our coaching staff to:

  1. Respect the rights and dignity of players and opponents

  2. Place the well-being and safety of players above all other considerations

  3. Adhere to all guidelines laid down by governing bodies

  4. Encourage and guide players to accept responsibility for their own behaviour and performance

  5. Ensure that the activities they direct are appropriate to the experience and ability of the players

  6. Clarify with players what is expected of them and what players should expect from the coaches

  7. Co-operate fully with specialists (e.g. doctors, physio) in the best interests of players

  8. Promote the positive aspects of the sport and never condone violations of the laws of the game or behaviour contrary to the spirit of game

  9. Avoid use of prohibited substances or techniques and ensure players understand the consequences of same

  10. Display high standards of behaviour and appearance

  11. Avoid the use of inappropriate language

  12. Adhere to the terms of the club’s policies on prevention of discrimination on any grounds.

  13. Social Media Obligations. The club expects coaches to use social media in a respectful and responsible manner. When using social media, coaches are expected to ensure that they:

  • Respect the rights and confidentiality of others

  • Do not impersonate or falsely represent another person

  • Do not bully, intimidate, abuse, harass or threaten others

  • Do not make defamatory comments

  • Do not use offensive or threatening language

  • Do not post content that is hateful, threatening, pornographic or incites violence against others

  • Do not post content that harms the reputation and good standing of the Club or those within its community

 

  1. A breach of this policy will be considered by the committee and will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
