PLAYERS CODE OF CONDUCT POLICY

Linlithgow Rose expects its players to uphold and respect the values and laws of the game. Winning is important but not everything. We expect our players to:

  1. Make every effort to lead a healthy lifestyle which will include an appropriate diet

  2. Avoid gambling on football

  3. Set a positive example for others

  4. Abide by the laws, rules and spirit of the game and avoid gamesmanship and time-wasting

  5. Always have regard for the best interests of the game, including where publicly expressing an opinion on the game and any particular aspect of it, including others involved in the game

  6. Avoid use of inappropriate language

  7. Make every effort consistent with fair play and the laws of the game to help their team win and to accept victory and defeat with an equal measure of dignity

  8. Resist any influence that might, or might be seen to, bring into question their commitment to the team winning

  9. Resist any temptation to take banned substances or use banned techniques

  10. Treat opponents and their officials with respect at all times, irrespective of match results

  11. Safeguard the fitness of opponents, avoid violence and rough play, and help injured opponents

  12. Respect match officials and accept their decisions without protest

  13. Show due respect to the interests of supporters

  14. Adhere to the terms of the club’s policy on anti-discrimination

  15. Social Media Obligations. The club expects players to use social media in a respectful and responsible manner. When using social media, players are expected to ensure that they:

  • Respect the rights and confidentiality of others

  • Do not impersonate or falsely represent another person

  • Do not bully, intimidate, abuse, harass or threaten others

  • Do not make defamatory comments

  • Do not use offensive or threatening language

  • Do not post content that is hateful, threatening, pornographic or incites violence against others

  • Do not post content that harms the reputation and good standing of the Club or those within its community

  1. A breach of this policy will be considered by the committee, and will be dealt with on a case by case basis
